This book offers a consolidated version of the Eurocode 6 geared for practical applications. It consists of the Eurocode 6 text where the regulations of the National Annexes were integrated into the corresponding paragraphs, equations and illustrations of the code. At the same time those recommendations not applicable to Germany were removed. To increase its practical value, the national stipulations, changes and additions are highlighted. Short explanations and references in a margin column provide an aid in adjusting to and daily use of it.

Eurocode 2 «Design of concrete structures – Part 1-1: General Rules, and rules for buildings» (EC2-1-1) and the German National Annex were tested and improved upon during a thorough trial phase and is now ready for its official implementation by building authorities in Germany. This book offers a consolidated version of the code geared for practical applications. It consists of a corrected Eurocode 2 text where the national regulations were integrated into the corresponding paragraphs, equations and illustrations of the code. At the same time those recommendations not applicable to Germany were removed. To increase its practical value, the national stipulations, changes and additions are highlighted. Short explanations and references are provided on the edge of the code text and provide an aid in adjusting to and daily use of it. The appendix offers further and more comprehensive commentaries regarding the background of the code in order to deepen its understanding. The work is rounded off with a set of design aids. The publishing associations – Federal Association of Checking Engineers for Construction Technology (BVPI), German Concrete and Construction Technology Association (DBV), Association of Reinforcing Steel (ISB), and German Association of Consulting Engineers (VBI) – assume that this commented and consolidated version is a prerequisite to applying Eurocode 2-1-1 and its National Annex in practice with a reasonable amount of effort.

This handbook provides a complete overview of pile systems and their application and production. It shows their analysis based on the new safety concept providing numerous examples for single piles, pile grids and groups. These recommendations are considered rules of engineering.

Mit der Herausgabe der Empfehlungen, die normenahnlichen Charakter haben, unterstutzt der Arbeitskreis „Baugruben“ der Deutschen Gesellschaft fur Geotechnik e.V. (DGGT) die Planungspraxis bei Entwurf und Berechnung von Baugrubenumschlie?ungen. Zur bauaufsichtlichen Einfuhrung der Eurocodes wurde eine Anpassung der 4. Aufl age der Empfehlungen an die Vorgaben der DIN EN 1997-1:2009 in Verbindung mit dem Nationalen Anhang DIN 1997-1/NA:2010-12 und den erganzenden Regelungen der DIN 1054:2010-12 erforderlich. Alle Empfehlungen wurden grundlich uberpruft, soweit erforderlich uberarbeitet und an neue Erkenntnisse angepasst. Wesentlich uberarbeitet wurde Kapitel 10 „Baugruben im Wasser“. Aufgrund der fortgeschrittenen Entwicklung in der Messtechnik und den gestiegenen Anforderungen wurde Kapitel 14 „Messtechnische Uberprufung und Uberwachung von Baugrubenkonstruktionen“ vollig neu formuliert. Die Empfehlungen des Arbeitskreises „Baugruben“ sollen helfen, • Entwurf und Berechnung von Baugrubenumschlie?ungen zu erleichtern, • Lastansatze und Berechnungsverfahren zu vereinheitlichen, • die Standsicherheit der Baugrubenkonstruktionen und ihrer Einzelteile sicherzustellen und • die Wirtschaftlichkeit der Baugrubenkonstruktionen zu verbessern.

The Recommendations deal with the basics of performing verifications and the application of geotextiles for the reinforcement of various foundation systems and ground improvement measures, in road construction, for slopes and retaining structures and in landfill operation.
